Meet The Team

Helen Madden

Managing Director

Meet Helen Madden, the Co-Owner and Managing Director powerhouse behind Vocation Training and Vocation Recruitment- your go-to-source for all things Traffic Management in the West Midlands and beyond. Helen's no ordinary Managing Director- she's a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a passion for making work-life barriers vanish into thin air. Since 2009, Helen has been a wizard in the Welfare to Work realm, sprinkling her expertise on advising, consulting, coordinating, and managing teams. She's the kind of person who has seen it all, working with folks from all walks of life who just needed a helping hand.

Fast forward to 2017 when Helen and her partner-in-cone-crime, Lewis, birthed Vocation Training into existence. Their mission? Helping people break through life's barriers and get ahead in their careers. Based in the vibrant heart of the Black Country, Vocation Training offers top-notch Traffic Management training with a special employer-focused twist. We're thrilled to report that we empower over 200 learners each year! But here's the kicker: Vocation Training isn't just another face in the crowd, they're prime contractors on not one, but two ongoing contracts. Helen's commitment to delivering on promises is unwavering, and she is eager to see where life takes the Vocation family from the brand-new Quinton, Birmingham, headquarters.

Now, when Helen isn't immersed in the world of Traffic Management, you might catch her striking a pose in yoga class, showing some love to her feline friends, or sipping on a refreshing brew. The Vocation Team likes to think of her as our resident yogi-cat-beer enthusiast, adding her unique understanding to the world of Traffic Management and recruitment. Cheers to Helen and her incredible journey!

Lewis Erskine

Operations Director

Welcome Lewis Erskine, the Co-Owner and Operations Director of Vocation Training and Vocation Recruitment, a man whose career is as diverse as a buffet menu at a fancy restaurant. With experience in Hospitality & Catering and Management as well as over 15 years of working in Welfare to Work and Recruitment, Lewis has more hats than a magician at a hat convention. But don't worry, he's not pulling rabbits out of them- he's changing people's lives by catapulting them into the high-speed world of Traffic Management. Lewis' pledge is simple; he is all about delivering on promises. His wrap-around support is like snugly-fit Hi Vis for job seekers, tailor made and designed for success. It's so well-crafted that even the most fashionable supermodels would be envious.

And speaking of fashion, our new Quinton Headquarters is the catwalk of Lewis' dreams. It's the result of years of vision and hard work- everyone from across the West Midlands is welcome to attend, whether you're dressed in your PPE, a three piece suit, or your favourite pj's, you're more than welcome to swing by and soak in the vibes!

Now, when Lewis isn't busy being a Traffic Management superstar, he is out there chasing his dream of becoming the new Yaya Toure on the football pitch. And with four knee operations under his belt, Lewis is basically the Bionic Midfielder. So, if you ever need a hand on the field or some expert guidance on live lanes on the roads, Lewis is your go-to guy. You know where to find him- somewhere between traffic cones and soccer goals!

Sharron Peacock

Administration Support

Sharron Peacock is a support extraordinaire with a CV spanning Education, Care, and Hospitality. Now, she has landed in the magical realm of the Admin Team where she wields her organisational wand to keep the administrative cogs of Vocation Training turning oh-so-smoothly. Sharron nurtures and guides learners on their journey all the while playing the role of meticulous document detective. No misplaced signature escapes her keen eye.
Sharron enjoys making a difference in people's lives and, rumour has it, her secret power lies in sipping Vivienne's legendary concoctions- a surefire way to boost efficiency.
When Sharron isn't weaving her magic at Vocation Training, she is a DIY diva, fearlessly battling cans of paint instead of paperwork, crafting her own kingdom of home improvement.

Jo Morgan

Trainer

With a teaching career spanning over twenty five years, leading teams, and working in Education, Theatre and Music, Jo is an Employability Trainer who knows the ins and outs of crafting courses and building curricula that hit the bullseye. A mix of tenacious spirit and understanding, seasoned with a dash of empathy and a sprinkle of sarcastic humour, she is part of Vocation Training's diverse and uplifting team, transforming training into a show-stopping spectacle.
So what does she do on a daily basis? Guiding unemployed adults through Traffic Management training, helping them navigate the mysteries of the Red Book Safety at Street Works code of practice until students become Health & Safety whizzes. She's bursting with tricks to polish interview and work trial skills, and is adept at prepping CVs that could charm the socks off traffic cones. When she is not in training mode, you'll likely catch her globe-trotting like a linguist on a caffeine high, engaging in chit-chats with the world in a mishmash of languages!
