Case Study 7: R

R, 29 years old, had been unemployed for almost a year when he was referred to Vocation Training by the NHS Thrive Into Work project. R was being supported for ongoing mental health needs and this coupled with a lack of confidence and being long term unemployed were barriers to finding employment for R. 

R completed the traffic management training and began his work trial on the 16th April 2019. R was offered a contract of employment on the 2nd May 2019 with an agency. This was perfect for R as he was able to pick and choose when he worked and fit it around his family and lifestyle needs. 

Since starting work R has gradually increased his hours to suit and always sounds very positive and happy with what he's doing. R often compliments the course and the staff at Vocation Training.
